Praasen Prisen - Praasen Award 2024
Danish Children and Youth Film Clubs – DaBUF honored on Saturday 13 April 2024 Thomas Borch Nielsen with the Praas Award. An award which, in addition to the honour, offers an illustration made by animation director, storyboard artist and animator Lowe Haak.
The Praas Award, which has been awarded for more than 40 years, is given to a person or institution that has done meritorious work in producing or communicating visual stories for children and young people. It must be said that Thomas Borch Nielsen has and continues to do so! You can't help but admire this year's Praas. Not only for productions he is behind. But also for so stubbornly sticking to films that we at DaBUF love - and love to show to our members.

Buster Prisen - The Buster Price 2025
“Remember My Name” won the Buster price for best Short at the BUSTER Film Festival 2025!
The jury, Danish Teachers’ Association, praised the film for “creating a historical universe that is otherwise difficult to access for students, and for setting a fine framework for conversations with children and young people about difficult topics that are eerily relevant today.”
Animation is the heart of Nice Ninja
Animation is often an essential part of our productions.
It all started with the animated feature film Sunshine Barry and The Disco Worms.
A fun fact is that Thomas Borch Nielsen got the idea to the story after he picked up an earthworm that wrinkled like it was dancing to disco.
Sunshine Barry and the Disco Worms was the starting point of many more animated features, short stories and series to come.
