REMEMBER MY NAME
“Remember My Name” is the film adaptation of Sascha Kempinski’s children’s book The Escape to Sweden (Flugten til Sverige) and is based on a true family story.
It is an emotional journey of flight, separation, and longing, set against the historical backdrop of the Jewish escape to Sweden during World War II.

The teddy bear Mo is given as a gift to the newborn child Miriam. Mo “awakens” at the sound of Miriam’s heartbeat and is forever connected to her. But as the war closes in, Miriam’s mother and father are forced to flee to Sweden. During the escape, Miriam is separated from her parents—and from her teddy bear Mo.
Miriam is placed in an orphanage in Denmark, while her parents in Sweden struggle to live with absence and grief.
Through the teddy bear Mo, the story portrays the sorrow of losing what is most precious. Yet, as an emotional mirror, an observer, and a friend, Mo sees the world with open, loving eyes.
